### 2016

When Denise's daughter, Vivi, was diagnosed with life-threatening food allergies, snack time got a whole lot scarier. Denise searched for options that were safe, delicious, and made with ingredients she could feel good about — and came up empty. So, while working full-time, she started building her own solution: Partake.

### 2017

Denise left her corporate job, launched a Kickstarter, and proved that there was a real appetite for safe, inclusive cookies.

With that momentum, she partnered with a manufacturer, whipped up three crunchy cookie flavors, and started selling straight out of her car to NYC grocers.

### 2018

With no roadmap and zero venture capital contacts, Denise bootstrapped Partake — maxing out credit cards, emptying her 401(k), and even selling her engagement ring. But the cookies hit shelves at Whole Foods Market, and the fundraising journey officially began.

### 2019

After 86 rejections, Partake got a game-changing yes: Marcy Venture Partners (co-founded by Jay-Z) invested $1M and led our seed round. Denise became the first Black woman to raise more than $1M for a packaged food company. Cookies were officially on the map.

### 2020-2022

Cookies weren’t the only sweet thing that Denise championed. She kicked off the Black Futures Fellowship to support HBCU students in CPG, and became a certified B Corp — because doing good is baked into everything we do.

### 2023-2024

We dropped Classic Grahams — the first top 9 allergen-free graham cracker — and raised the s’mores bar for good. One year later, Vanilla Wafers hit shelves (in full-size and mini!) alongside a new mini graham. Snack kits rejoiced.

### TODAY

Partake is now in 18,000+ stores, with a fresh new look and the same mission you’ve always loved: to make snacking safe, joyful, and inclusive. We’re just getting started.
